MYTH STORY
In a dungeon residing in the deep dark bowls of hell. Enslaved in a room
reeking of death’s perfume, his, lonely, tired eyes bore sight of blood spattered walls. Floor drenched with tears as the unholy vermin’s scurried hither and dither, around and about. A lonely flame danced about the room, at times gently kissing his once bearable face. He just hung in a vacuum of eternal pain. His body scorched by Olympus’s fire, bathed in his own sins. Even after all that passed, he wore a grin. A sly, mocking. Sign of sheer insanity followed by tears of unrelenting pain. He laughed, harder now he laughed, harder and harder and harder. The worthless creatures that overlooked him scurried away in fear. Laughing in a manner so demented that his eyes burned red. Then a sudden halt to his laughter. A sudden swoop of silence overtook where unholy screams of laughter once reigned. Slowly he gave air to his burnt lungs aching to breathe as he opened his mouth at the expense of stinging pain. He spoke in a manner so smooth yet tired of life, in a way so haunting, a way only the most evil of men speak as they release their prey of life, yet brimming of sadness and aching for pity.
He spoke, long he had not, but now he spoke. “Great kings men make but titles of such make not men great. But rather feeble drones, slaved minds to powers divine. Linger about they do, as life, love, and all such matter is undone in hearts captive in power’s lust”. He paused only to laugh again. He continued in his state of manner “Not he, though she danced a good dance, the temptress crimson lips he not let lay upon his soul. Power, a beautiful wretch she is. Known he had the true origins most well. A witch, enchanting, doomed prey to death’s heaven and they knocked on its door. Eyes blind they knocked, hearts lost they knocked, minds seized they knocked. Not he.... no no no, not he. Title of king and justice: the hearts purpose, together ally’s unheard and unseen. A man defined through great ages betrayed...oh yes betrayed, betrayed. Deeds of such done unto him and by whom? A swine oh yes... a swine, the one he called his own. What for thou asks? ”.
Laughing again from his pain, he recalled events that chained his raging heart and he spoke again. “A tale I tell, a tale you hear, none a mind as divine as that of hell’s fear. Soul stripped, maimed man, undertaken crimes scream foul on name’s of love’s clan”. Silence defeated, again he laughed and laughed, drinking his sorrows, he laughed.
“So what say you Styx, am I too acquire my answers” with a shameful smile he asked as he walked back and forth along her dreary shores. A haunting voice of unknown destination replied “Answers...hmm... tell me Linra, what tainted thoughts spur such actions? Actions that require knowledge of such haughty nature. Knowledge dare I give voice to, knowledge, the likes of you, need not know”. From his mouth escaped a fresh laugh, riddled in the tone of surprise as he took flight and hovered over the ocean blue water bubbling and swirling, “Come come, dear Styx “ he laughed again “Shoot not such arrows, poison tipped assassins, hosting serpents of hasty words. Preconceived notions plague the better of thou judgment. Hopes had I of pleasing the mighty Styx, to which hell and heaven must bow. Had thee cared to pierce the veil of truth, that curtains my intentions, thee might see such honor”. Suddenly laughter erupted from the once brooding waters and the haunting voice, in jest, spoke “Honor, you speak of honor. Such words on thy tongue rival blasphemy. Dare you not corrupt the virginity of the word, it is reserved for the revered not the wicked”. Linra’s face burned hot red from the haughty words, anger surfaced and clouded the once gentle surface of his corrupting eyes and with a brazen manner he shouted “Hear this Styx, think not my mettle is dirt’s worth. I jest, yes, but I do command great waves of anger, the likes of which ruins once great rivers. Rivers whose remnants are naught but mere pools laden in unknown caverns”. The water now boiled ever so quickly. Knowing the destination of such a remark, Styx boiled in anger as Linra had before. The water shouted foul. Linra knew he had touched a nerve. She screamed “Vermin” the ground shook in fear “Such insolence and from what? The likes of you”. Linra stood silent, in all that was undertaking, he stood silent. As the screams from the water echoed he stood silent looking only ahead. Styx, awfully curious at the shameful silence, ceased halt. “Linra what manner is this” softly words sprang forth “Speak you, what riddles grasp your mind” then brazen herself she said “My, my, the cat’s tongue succumbs to silence. Dare ask I what bit the beast”. Following those remarks, a gentle laugh, most hurtful in its nature. “The ugly head shall rear along with rivers of blood” Linra spoke as his eyes still glared straight. Styx bewildered spoke “What matters these words harbor?” Linra looked down on the now calm water and gently said “Oh thou know more then well of what meaning these words harbor”.
“Knowledge of such hidden contempt, such foul secrets that attach their lineage to your name and, through working of the stars, sadly I myself linger in the storm”. Styx shaken and shocked drowned in fear of Linra’s threat. In the long and looming silence Linra uttered “Well well well I see now the great Styx holds bitter her tongue to my rather excessive suggestions, to divulge rather tenacious methods to my rather ambitious stratagems”. Linra waited for an answer to quench his thirst but to no avail he spoke again “I see that the question begs to roll of the mind again. So what say you Styx? Am I to acquire my answers, I, so much seek in need”. The water churned and became violent again, exuding fear and caution “Linra hear now and hear as you have never before. Hatred of mine that is for you and hatred of yours that is of mine goes so far as to death’s doors, but what you dare to lay hands upon brings death to the knees, in pain. Much caution as I can advise falls short to the effort. Please I beg, please Linra, let not foolishness reign the good judgment”.
Linra, lost in a trance of power over Styx, went on with his dangerous pursuits. “I trust you tremble in thought of Zeus’s anger. Such pity, a man who must bow to the fiery shores of your hands holds a deaths grip upon thy neck. Truly your fears are dumbfounded. So here now, let’s have the knowledge”. “Linra I beg thee, save the neck you just now revered” Styx made the last attempt. “Come Come, now thee shall be unscathed of misfortunes if some shall take place”. The water fell silent, the blue swirls and green bubbles that once raged now resided under. After much silence she spoke “A virgin” a quite demure voice came forth. Linra smiling “Come again”. Now much louder and angrier in contempt “A virgin. Spill forth the Virgin’s blood upon the Titan’s resting gently in Olympus’s womb. Two drops and no more in the eyes, seven drops and no more in the knees. Evil instruments of godly disasters shall see light to equally evil hands; yours”. “Well now was that of much hardship as thee had succumbed it to be. Leave thee now I shall, for your water shakes and trembles in base fears that I shall evict in no time. Fears that not you, but you know who, shall soon witness in great volumes. Rest now, much thee has done to help all that live. They shall soon worship thee as they will bring their ways to I”.
Linra laid in wait for the arrival of his most trusted and perhaps his only hand to humanity. He waited in his dark chambers, decorated with the screams of the undead, aching for release to the pain. The greatest sinners of all Urth met the hell, they created, right out his window, so this was music to Linra’s ears. Now, however, Linra was too anxious to enjoy the sweet screams that hovered around him, his anticipation drove him wild. At last the sudden sound of rusted leather clamping on the red marble ground turned his eyes. “Ah dear Lacansis, your presence warms the Hades frozen hell“ laughing, he started again, “Such gloom painted red across the sad eyes, Why the nights sky upon the, now to be, bright day? “ Linra in curiosity asked. Lacansis looked at his reflection on the red marble “A girl, three fort nights of age. I saw angels ascent the young soul to the Elysian fields. Such gentle hands, so young held to the
bosom of the angels. That should not be so. She had to live”. Linra surprised “Oh, so that plagues the mind of my Lacansis, well then life shall knock the door of the fields and bring the one who brings thee down to life, how does that please the heart ?”. Lacansis wore a grim smile as he said “Eternal gratitude presents itself to thee, now I am to forever serve such as the likes of you”. Linra, then laughing replied, “Not serve my good demon, rather, share the fruits of the spoils, spoils which shall come rather strong and mighty, spoils that will raise the head of the great Lacansis”. Lacansis gave a stare back to Linra “Ever I am in thee debt”. Linra, quick on his feet, rose and placed his hand gently around Lacansis neck and spoke “Well now the time begs the question. Do we keep charge what we promised us in our dreams?” Lacansis, confused, asked “Master, I know not what such words intend”.
As his eyes burned in excitement, Linra went on “A virgin dear Lacansis, a virgin. Yes, the sweet blood bathing in purity becomes the dagger to strike that which is immortal, that which reigns in tyranny and that which you’re very own shall right wrong”.
Lacansis now knew well enough what those words had meant. In fear he took back a few steps and asked his master “The means have been found, the means of blasphemous undertakings? Action of that nature bode hell for the convicted”. “Now now, Lancansis, thee shed darkness on what is good light. I ask naught but one task to be done on your hands. Blood, such sweet blood, requires ground on the Titan’s mighty bones and for such to transpire my hands must hold the warm wine that thee shall acquire for I” Linra had asked the deed to be done. Lacansis flowing with doubt replied “Death, is that what thou ask upon to be placed on my hands, swing of the dagger to undo the life in her”. Linra surprised “Yes, tis true, but what constrictions hold thy hand. Not as thou have never bore sight to spilled blood flowing from thou hands, not as though your mind burdens with guilt on released life. Thou dagger has drank many pools of blood so what holds that assassin in its burrow now?” Unease creped upon Lacansis’s every nerve as he spoke “As much is true that I kill, but they be vile mongers, a plague upon the good man’s heart. Man that passes animal in cruelty, those are such whores I release of life. Not good souls who know not evil but rather its nemesis”. Linra laughed at Lacansis’s words and replied “Oh what be evil and what be its enemy. I see all the same lost souls who beg order to their miserable minds. Lacansis, I, ask thee for reasons you know well, then what words abuse the heart, heart that I know to be meaningful of them all. Am I to ask again?”. “No no” Lacansis replied “But one thing I ask: Is this all of that there is of the good life to lose?” Linra quickly answered back “Yes, but only of good. Much blood of evil shall flow, by the rivers volume I say”. Lacansis, unsatisfied, walked on, heading for the red lit doors. A stone on his chest that went heavier as seconds strolled by. As he opened the dark doors, he turned
around and said “Master Linra I am to do, as I have been told. That blood, soon, shall dance on thou hands”. He left and his dagger yearned again to drink the good life.
The fresh breeze mothered by the mountains danced around his face, he had not surfaced in ages, and to him it felt good. The sunshine welcomed his face, a strange occurrence for a demon. He hid his true visage from the world in a form of a man, a man in appearance like any other but inside no man compared to him. His task was to kill for his master, who he had long considered a friend. A life was to leave and he was there to make certain of that. With the blade tucked, he went to a local shopkeeper and asked “Good sir, pardon my intrusion, but any chance thee knows where the king resides, I look for his progeny, his one and only daughter “. The shop keeper raised his eyebrow in suspicion and contempt and replied “Morgan, thou seeks the hand of Morgan?”. “Yes good sir, the one called Morgan” Lacansis answered back. The shopkeeper let loose a laugh as lifted the heavy bucket holding the cool water “Sad faith accompanies thee, thou dream the hand of beauty but turns to find the blade hugging his neck in hunger”. “What things you speak of man? why such warnings against who I seek?” Lacansis asked in curiosity. The shopkeeper looked at his young face and answered “Thou know not the affairs concerned with Morgan? The king’s precious shall not the see the light of common man, but only nobility of the greatest kingdoms. She deems too precious to walk among the common man, therefore the king placed guards on her. Heartless, they watch each step of Morgan, if sight of you and I wanders on the forbidden body we’d be laid to hang”.
Lacansis, shocked at such arrogance of the king and such brutality on his people, spoke “A child brings all of good in a man, not crude temptations. She’s, after all, a human, as much as the most vile of a man to the greatest of saint, then why the king exercise such caution in her life? Matters not, I shall observe her at all costs”. The shopkeeper stood fast on his feet at the sound of Lacansis remarks and said “Does life anger you son? because such thinking shall only release thee of it”. Lacansis laughed, something he hadn’t known he could, and replied “No good sir, worry not about my health, I am more than secure against certain misshapenness”. As they talked amongst each other, a voice of apples falling, cried far away. Lacansis set his eyes at the sound’s destination and found two figures running toward him. One ran looking back knowing not what lay ahead, running scared and happy the figure crossed paths with him as a collision occurred. Lacansis stood still but the figure fell, he lent his hands to help the fallen stranger. Lacansis touched the hand and held it firm as he lifted the being to his view. He saw a face of a young woman, a face so intoxicating that he could not; rather he dared not look away to any other sight.
His dead heart excited into a frenzy, he looked on, into the eyes so haunting, into the face so beautiful. Her hands felt like the finest silk of any land to his rough hands. The wind played with her long, dark, hair as it spread everywhere across her pearl white skin. He kept his gaze upon her, steady and undeterred. She, however, smiled at him and said “I do say my hand demands it’s sovereignty from the prison of your hand”. Suddenly knocked into reality once again, he released her hand though he had no intention to. Amazed at her beauty, he said to her “Pardon this man’s imprudent manner, perfection’s hand is a rarity to hold”. Pleasantly shocked, she replied “Well, does every heart become victim to your compliments?” Lacansis, overcome with shame, asked “What name clings to this finest work of Venus? I am smitten by the stranger who gives me such smiles that leaves, I, unworthy, and, I, enchanted”. Her cheeks blushed the sunset’s color, from his admiration for her. She smiled and said “Your haste in my interest flatters my heart but this name of mine escapes even me. A stranger I am, an enigma unto myself. I hope the likes of thee can help the likes of I find me”. Lacansis overcome from what he couldn’t understand and said “Whatever the lady requires”. “Then meet the lady when the time calls” saying that, she ran away with her companion. Slowly she disappeared from his sight.
Trickles of rain began to fell, drops of cold water, by the thousands in number, kissed his face as he watched the ground on where she took her steps. It started to rain harder but he cared not because he was scared that a demon, a servant of hell, has given into love. This was a fear he wanted to feel. The rain felt gentle to him, everything did, and suddenly he lifted his arms and looked at the sky and screamed
“Oh bright stars of heaven, does my mind deceive the right, that I witness such beauty upon which heaven itself bows to such a site.
If such is wrong then forever let me be not right so I may gaze at such beauty, an angel of finest art that I saw in that sight.
Come out, come out, I beg thee with all my might; come out cupid, from wherefore thee maybe tonight.
Take thee arrow of love and strike the heavenly light and let her gaze at me upon her first sight, so we can be in love forever even after the end of this hearts life.
Oh you stars of heaven, this maybe to your delight but if I am deceived then correct not this sweet mistake made tonight.
For I swear upon my heart, swear upon my life, oh gentle stars of heaven I’ve seen love at first sight.
A reason to live, a meaning to life, tis at last I have found true love tonight “.
Lacansis laid love struck on his bed, dreaming of the moment he met the stranger, again and again. Playing out the chance meeting in his mind and remembering the one who struck his heart with her eyes. He had much to do in his given time but what would it matter now, he had seen the true face of life and he wanted to greet it. Without his knowledge Linra sneaked into Lacansis chambers as Lacansis laid looking at the ceiling. Linra smiled at his condition and said “I do say Lacansis how goes the search to find the faithful victim. Pray tell thou findings on the matter “. Lacansis rose to his feet in a hurry, embarrassed, he replied “The search goes well. A good man of the shop gave forth knowledge of events where the choice virgin celebrates among others of her kind. My presence shall take part in the celebration. There she may strike these eyes and come under the killing dagger”. Linra, happy with the released news from Lacansis, said “Well then, good man Lacansis. I wish thou good fortunes” Lacansis, pleased from the reaction from Linra, replied “Your reaction pleases me, my mind foresees the good.”
The night screamed for attention because of the festivities that took place within the castle. It was a young night, bursting in laughter, filled with dancing, and youthful jest from the young prince and princesses of the great and faraway lands. The king of the land was holding a ball of grand proportions. Lacansis had no trouble getting in because of the requirements of the grand dance. All who desired to dance had to dawn a visage, a garish mask representing the gods of their liking. Lacansis having already worn one mask thought nothing of wearing another. He entered the ballroom where many, young and the old, danced to the singing sirens. All hidden behind masks, dressed in finest of the clothes known to man. He slowly made his way through the dancing masses, avoiding the gentle scarves of silk as they rushed by his face. The dancing masks twirled around him. Bashful colors surrounded his every breath and the graceful movements of the young hopefuls caressed his every step. He found his way through the crowd to the table where the food for the planned feast awaited. Anxious to find the gracious host of the ball, he looked endlessly among the bevy of costumes and masks.
His prey, Morgan, remained hidden from his sight until one young child pointed her whereabouts. Now his eyes caught her. Lacansis saw a gentle figure, supporting a blue and white sequin gown, coruscating, in all its majesty. She wore a mask in the likeness of Venus, a white soft surface with blue diamonds placed around the eyes. The mask was a work of art just as the woman who wore it. Lacansis made his way to the princess and when he approached her he lifted her hand gently as a gentleman would. He looked at the shimmering diamonds and asked “My lady a pleasure of a dance with thee shall grant this fellow worth in life “. Princess Morgan raised her hidden eyes to gain view of the man, seeing a mask of Hades she asked him “Quite a mask thou wears on his face, does thou worship the devil in god’s house”. She raised her arm to signal her approval of the dance and Lacansis gladly accepted. In a serious manner she asked again “Tell me good sir what fascination with the blasphemous?” “Not the blasphemous but the dangerous” Lacansis answered back, as they joined the other in the graceful movements of the dance. Morgan asked again “Quite a fellow you are, all other princes choice the likeness of Zeus to adorn their face, but thee chooses the god most unlikely of worship, why so?” Lacansis dipped the princess gracefully, in the rhythm of the music, and answered “Hades, though dark, deems good aspects. Such as care of the dead” “Quite right thou be in his response. I admire thinking of different manners, most graciously in a man.” she replied. Their dancing remained flawless in the heyday of the ball. Then she suddenly stopped, her movements took a halt, she asked Lacansis “Will the good sir desire a leave of this ball with the good lady? “ Lacansis knew this would be the chance he had waited for to spill the blood of the princess. He quickly answered “That desire of thee bodes well with me”.
Both rushed out on the grand festivities for something quiet and more intimate. With her hand held firm, Lacansis guided the princess out to the balcony, residing behind the dance arena. As they walked Lacansis could feel the crisp air slapping his face in disgust for what he was about to do. He could also feel his hidden blade ache in thirst for blood. Both reached the balcony and stopped. The princess turned around to face the glistening stars of the night and the torch lit night life of the humble kingdom. With her back turned Lacansis raised his dagger to the howling sounds of the wind. It reached forward, crazed in hunger for life, the blade shined. At the last inch of the journey Lacansis stopped the blade; he could feel her, moving to face him. He rushed to hide the dagger for another moment as he saw her turn around in excitement. As the princess turned she removed her finely crafted mask that imprisoned her face. The mask came off to reveal a face that shattered his and his daggers, spirit. Stupefied he spoke “The... the…stranger…thee harbors the face…fa…face of the stranger I met on the shopkeeper’s ground, on the rain struck day”. The stranger who struck his heart on that fine day was the chosen who was to die for Linra’s great cause.
Morgan, also surprised, replied “What words thee utter from thou lips. How does thou know of my disguised visits out of the castle?” Lacansis stepped back in shock and sadness, his one true human emotion betrayed by fate. Morgan waited for her answer, but upon receiving nothing she moved her hands to remove his mask. She touched the blue colored, yellow lit, mask and removed it from its throne. When the mask came off she said in surprise “The man who so passionately held my hand, you are the stranger of the town road”. She smiled and a little later laughed and said “Thou not knew you held hands of nobility and I not knew these hands of mine entertained nobility itself. Do I presume thou be of noble blood? There be no other way of entry to the ball, unless...” she looked at his frozen eyes and smiled and spoke again “... Unless thou crept his uninvited presence unto the event. Hmm...Tell me good sir, what name suits the truth; a thief after great riches, or a King true at heart?” Lacansis came back to the moment, shaken by the twist of fate and responded “Whatever name pleases the lady. If noble desires be your fancy then a king I am, but if danger be your liking then a thief, by all rights, I shall be called”. Morgan blushed from his response and replied “Great rulers I have seen in spades but a crafty bandit incites the heart to another levels. Such reasons, such pleasures cause my departure from this hefty existence to the rag disguises that I adorn. The, bloated bag of gas, that takes shape of my father prisons me to this lie. Confines of these proportions spur the body and mind that is of mine, to run free in the cool fields of the country side. Many times I hid in the town to live among the people who my father governs. I adore the love that springs forth from the poor man, rather than the riches that come from the king’s hand”.
Lacansis smiled at her and hid the dagger forever. Tucked back into the hole it came. Morgan grabbed his shaking hand and said “Come away from the cold winds and into the fire’s warmth. My chambers holds all, your presence is all that it requires”. Lacansis paused and replied “But princess do these action speak well of thou character? Thou art being the image of this kingdom, let that image remain untainted”. “Oh come now, why let the heart linger in want when the want is at grasp! I wish not of the wrong, I want only the company of thee, only to exchange words. To talk underneath the star lit sky”, Morgan answered back. Lacansis smiled and followed her through the dark mazes to her residing chambers. As Morgan opened the door revealing the view of golden lined curtains enveloping the metal crafted bed. She plopped down on the bed while he stood watching her. She sat their blushing and smiling at him and he said “The star lit sky begs a kiss from the soft lips of the gentle lady, as do I”. Morgan slowly rose from the bed and walked over to him “A kiss, a kiss only lasts few paltry moments, but things of other nature that a woman shares with a man last eternally. So only a kiss gentle sir? I am to give more if thou is to expect the gifts”. She gently placed her finger on his lips and closed her eyes and said “Strongest of mind’s desires overtake my mind, give in to the heart, but I fear the circumstances. Help me ease the mind”. Lacansis placed his hands on her face and said “All that I can do, I shall”. They held each other and let their love decorate the moment as the night passed by…watching the gathering of two lonely souls.
He entered the chambers of Linra. He knew he was about to defy all that
he had known. He saw Linra facing the window, listening to the daunting screams of the damned. He approached Linra but said nothing, the sadness was apparent on his face. His world would never be the same now. “Beautiful are they not. The raging screams of the wicked echo in these ears as the sweetest music, a sweet rhapsody of hell overtakes this burdened heart. Well enough of the momentary pleasures, how goes the search of the sacred blood?” Linra asked in a relaxed manner. Lacansis opened his lips to the heavy question “No blood shall pour on the bones of the resting Titans”. Linra, puzzled by the eccentric answer, replied “My mind loses way in the maze of the riddled answer. What meanings are intended by such a response? “. Lacansis, worried about how to reveal the news that a demon could not fulfill his masters wish because he was overcome by the emotion, he was taught to hate; love, he tried the best he knew how. “The one, whose blood proves serviceable, takes charge of this poor demon’s heart. To end her would be to end all that is me, for I have given all that I know to her”. Linra laid still in shock, his eyes peering through Lacansis, confused and amazed he spoke “Lacansis I know not what to reply with. These things you speak of escape thou character, not your words but of the witch’s, who controls thee, come of the tongue. This is not the servant I employ”. “Yes, yes this is I, the myrmidon servant, who dare speak in this defiance. Forgiveness is all I ask because my hand comes not close to do the unholy deed “.
Linra now turned red from the rising anger within him. He walked close to Lacansis and placed his eyes close upon his face and in a serious and quiet tone, said “Lacansis, I have known thee for years on end. Any other servant of mine, had he shown such defiance, would have suffered endless agony, but not thee, thee is a servant closer to my heart for reasons I dare not tell. What I hear from thou words displeases I in great numbers. Now listen here, with the ears sturdy and sound, she shall, and will DIE. If not by the dagger of thee, then by many other daggers residing in hell’s heart. I can’t and will not take side of foolish infatuations. Love is a traitor, a fiend most devilish in nature and wicked to the rotten core. It corrupts the loyal in the heart, like it has done unto thee. I know thou well, so you shall live, but death is certain on the princess”. Linra displaced his glaring eyes from Lacansis’s face and remained his lookout from the window. Lacansis clutched his fists hard and boiled in rage over the heartlessness Linra showed toward his most heartfelt request. He angered over the emotions that swirled in the mind. He was now a cauldron of lost and new feelings that his kind had never learned, or allowed to feel or control. He turned around and said to Linra “NO, thou shall not undertake the actions to kill. Listen this Linra, I am not of your stature but that stands not for the destruction of my life. I kill, and for what? So that flamboyant wishes, of yours, may see that light of day. If my life may leave me in the task then let it so, but Morgan shall continue to see the sunrise, alive and well. Lay the hands on thy neck to end it all, but touch not the soft skin of my love, for I may do such that threats even thee”.
Linra turned around to find the face of Lacansis buried in fear and hatred. He knew he had pushed Lacansis far to the breaking point, but he had to continue. “Place your sight out the window” Linra said to Lacansis. The view that presented out the window scared Lacansis. The ground shook as three metal blades pierced the ashes of the dead laying on the ground. The masters of the swords appeared, one, right after another. Three demons of rare form appeared, hollow eyes and rotten bones made the figure, each stood tall and strong. Killing their only design, they moved. Scarring screams roamed the air, screams that came from the demons. Linra looked at Lacansis and said “Well if the dirty deed shall not come forth from thou hands then they will slay the princess, either way…death will visit the good virgin”. Linra laughed without shame, as Lacansis ran out the chamber to outrun the demons to Morgan.
With his heart in his throat, Lacansis ran towards the castle. His heart beat went faster and faster as he ran out of breath. He could have flown to her but that would have caused panic among the locals. He could feel the demons heart beats as well, as they approached closer to Morgan and he knew he had to reach her first or else. The Castle came within his sight, he could see her window, and it would be only a matter of time before he reached it. He worried, however, that the demons may had a lead on him. He saw the sentries guarding the door and knew they would not allow his presence within the castle walls. He took flight, out of range of the sentry’s spears and aimed for the princess window. At last he had reached his destination. Now he had to lead her out of the harms way. He saw her facing the mirror, sitting, brushing her gentle hair with no worries, unknowing to the perils that ensued her. “My dear, unknown evils head your way, hurry now as time becomes the enemy of us” Lacansis said, as he rushed into the room towards her. Morgan surprised and worried by the looming fear on his tense face, asked “My love what things thou speaks of? What dangers? All of present rests secure. Why such grim runs rampant upon thou face?”
Lacansis grabbed her hands as she ran them across his face and said “No, no dear love, the present bares no harm but the near future claws on thou life, as time becomes our enemy. Three hellish beings of terrible origins make way to your scent. The undead fancy thou blood and kill, they, shall in great volumes if the task requires such”. Lacansis held her hands firm as Morgan, left amazed from the dreadful news, shook. “B...bu…but of wha…what means do such hell hounds come? What wretch brings forth the wicked to existence?” she asked in dismay. Lacansis could not answer these questions because his truth would also have to present itself, but he knew that she needed answers in order for her to believe him. That would be the only way she would come with him. He let go of her hands and backed away, he put his head down and clutched his fists. Morgan looked in fear as his manners became more eccentric. He was now grunting as though he was in a murderous rage, his arms bulged, and his body shook from the force exuded by the changes that ran violent along his body. Lacansis got on his feet again and raised his head. His eyes were now lustrous yellow, his hands red and strong, his face bearing no resemblance to the man she gave her self to. Morgan screamed in fear and as Lacansis tried to go near her and said “You, you are the evil that hunts for my blood, then what of Lacansis? What instruments of vile alchemy has thou punished upon my dear Lacansis?” Lacansis stopped and said “Tis me my love, this is I, not the face you kissed, but the horror that stands before thee. A demon’s life I hide behind the visage that is, or was, the Lacansis you knew”.
Morgan fell on the floor, disturbed from the unsettling news. She looked up at him and saw the true image of the man she loved and said “Oh what games the fate enjoys, what live’s rivers, fortunate to cross, end in the heartless oceans. A puppet I am of the cruel hand, that runs fast to trample the betrayed doll. A love, hovering on top the jaws of jeopardy. A prisoner, forever bound to his cell, freed the damsel that knew no jails; irony laughs at this tear ridden face”. She rose from the ground and went to Lacansis. She ran her hand across his, blood red, face. Lacansis, torn himself, said “I wish not the birth of hate in thou heart for me”. Morgan shook her head and put her arms around him. Even after his change, he still felt the same to her.
She held him tight in her arms, even after all that took place, her love remained undaunted. The sun went to rest as the night took its turn on the world. The pastel colors of the sunset painted the sky. All was quite within the castle walls. The rustling of the leaves was all that was to be heard. Lacansis opened his eyes to the haunting silence, all was not right but he didn’t care to investigate, holding Morgan in his arms was too good of a feeling to cut short. The light took leave from the room where they stood and the pastel colors were now washed away by the night. Morgan herself now became weary of the silence, she knew the daily routine of the castle life and that moment seemed out of place. By now the guards would amuse themselves with perverse stories as they drank mead and feasted of bread of barley. Loud noise was the order of the day at evening time, but there was no noise to be found, as if they were alone.
Morgan let go of the Lacansis in worry of the silent night. Lacansis, also fearful of the worse, went to check outside the door but saw nothing but dark granite stones lined up against each other. Morgan stood still, watching Lacansis at work. The sound of dirt falling on the window sill startled Morgan and Lacansis. Nothing but tricks of the wind, they thought. They both turned around to continue their work. The dust fell again, but they cared not to turn around because the castle was old, one of the bricks must have been falling apart. More sounds of dust falling followed the second one and now suspicion overtook Morgan and Lacansis, as they both turned around quickly, but again only the wind passed by. Moonlight spread its legs across the room and Morgan’s shadow appeared on the ground. Lacansis stood out of the light searching farther out into the hallways. Morgan looked out the window on the scarlet moon and when she turned around and looked at the ground again another shadow greeted her sight. Morgan gasped at the sight and said “An another, but Lacansis scours the halls, so how?” As he walked around the corner Lacansis heard a shriek, a dizzying scream from Morgan.
He rushed into her room and there he saw the fearful sight. In their passion he had forgotten of the three demons that long to kill her. Morgan stood scared as the long, shimmering, blade ran just inches away from her neck, her body held strict by the grip of the rotting arm of the unholy killers. The demon placed his hollow, dark, eyes on Lacansis as one stood on the right ready in caution of any attack, and the other hung, upside down like a spider, from the ceiling. Lacansis knew he had to exercise caution, knowing there was no reasoning with them, just one swipe would take her away from him forever. With his actions, he instructed Morgan to cause a distraction, she understood quickly. Lacansis laid down his defense so the demons would be on a less stronger guard. Morgan, then, slowly gasped and took in the surrounding air. All was quiet. Lacansis looked at Morgan to tell her to begin. With all her might she screamed, loud, furious, and violent, she quickly ducked to avoid the blade. The demons, startled by the scream, fell back a few steps and that was all Lacansis needed. He ran toward the demon that held Morgan. Quick herself, Morgan went out of the way, and with one quick swipe of his fast and furious hands he put his fist through the demons neck. The one on the right charged toward Morgan but Lacansis, in nick of time, kicked him in the skull, charging him toward the wall. Morgan quickly rose on her feet and joined Lacansis. Together they charged for the window, but the demon on the ceiling pursed them and being quicker then them he blocked the path of the doomed lovers. Lacansis knew he had to do something, Morgan pointed the torch to him, as the other demons laid motionless from the hot blows of Lacansis. Morgan grabbed the torch that lit the room and passed it to Lacansis. With his breath, an admixture of sulfur and brimstone, he blew on the torch, igniting a shower of flames that landed on the demon. Burning, the demon fell out the window, clearing the path to freedom. Lacansis grabbed Morgan and took flight in the night’s sky, with her help he had saved his love. Lacansis, however, knew that they would be back, he had not ended their course of life, for they were the undead and just like him they would also be able to take flight and follow her scent to strike her down. They were safe...for now.
They had taken flight for some time now, the castle seemed only a mere pebble to their eye. Lacansis looked at Morgan, holding him tight and smiling back, and he thought; what wouldn’t he do for her, she was all he had now and he wanted nothing more. He could feel her getting the chills from the night winds, so he held her even closer to his heart. Lacansis knew that the only way to save her would be to reveal everything to the man it was being planned for: Zeus. He had to go to Mount Olympus: the home of the great gods to tell all. Then he was struck with another thought; would a demon be allowed to set foot in the god’s palace, he couldn’t take her there in the disguise of a man because Zeus would know and kill him right then in suspicion. The only way, he thought, possible would be to go as a demon in plea, but his kind had never even allowed to see the holy grounds, let alone attempt to reach them, he had no way of navigation to the mountain.
Lacansis fell into a worry, he could only fly so long before the demons would pick up her scent and take flight, and if he did defeat them, Linra would not stay silent long, he would come, he thought to himself, he had to find a way. Suddenly a pool of light appeared not far away. Coruscating rays of heavenly light that felt warm to his cold, hardened face. Morgan looked at the radiating beauty and smiled because it resembled the light of angels from her mother’s bed time tales. Lacansis’s wings stopped flapping but they both remained in flight, as though a gentle hand gave them ground in the sky. A voice came forth from the light, a soothing, gentle voice, like that of a mother’s to her young infant. It called forth Lacansis, asked him to bring himself and Morgan closer to it. “Be not afraid gentle child, come hither. I know thou troubles, and I know thou needs. Thee desires to find way to the holy mountain of the god’s residence “. Lacansis peered at the light in shock and replied “Yes, yes that is the desperate need, b...but how does thee know of such?” The voice, gentle in its manner, answered back to the lost soul “Worry not the means of knowing, but of the evil that ensues the both of you “.
Lacansis looked back and the voice continued “Yes, child the demons take flight, though they sense not the presence of thee and her, I shall not allow that much”. Lacansis confused and scared said “Does thou knew the directions to gods residence? I ask in grave want, not for mine but for the safety of my love. Light the hidden path to the sacred residing of the gods. The voice responded back “Worry not child, a way shall come for thee, trust these words to guide thee the right ways” Lacansis thought to himself and then looked at Morgan. She took his hand and closed her eyes and opened them again to tell him to except the offer of the ghostly light. Lacansis then looked at the light and said “I know not the origins of the comely light, but I also know no other ways to my task, lead us to the reigning deities and the king of all ...ZEUS”. The light enveloped them in all it’s glory, their bodies flushed with blazing lights of heaven, now their life was in the, mysterious, light’s hands. They had no other way to go, and the only thing they believed in was each other.
They both opened their eyes to an Arcadia of man dreams. Rivers of gold flowed endlessly along the diamond laid banks. The Phoenix flew over their heads, sprouting rainbows along the land as it trailed through the blue skies of heaven. Fairies twirled around Morgan’s eyes, landing gentle kisses upon her rosy cheeks, leaving behind trails of shimmering, colorful, dust. The unicorns came forth from the sun lit sky for the two of them, they would take them to see the gods. Lacansis remained in awe from the surroundings around him, he held on the hand of Morgan, but he didn’t worry because such a place couldn’t betray him. It was a nirvana all dreamed of. The Unicorns took flight with them and disappeared into the, sweet, lily scented, clouds. Lacansis looked on as the Unicorns took hold on the ground and stopped, they brought them to a grand hall. The floors lined with the finest of marbles, the walls decorated in liking of the gods, depicting the great battle of Zeus against Chronos. Gold statues of lions sat atop the foot steps, it was an artist’s muse.
Morgan took in the scenery and said “By the gods, what supreme craftsmanship. Such a mind to lie this from thought to existence”. Lacansis, in awe, replied “Thou speaks truth my love, heart of the greatest artists lies within these walls”. Together they continued, to the open door that lay ahead. Struck by the striking beauty, they entered the door and brought their presence to the chamber where the gods met. If they had been impressed by the hall before they were about to see the grand design that the greatest poets of the time had only written about from their dreams. Lacansis and Morgan held each others hand tight as they were over come by the sheer beauty of the meeting hall. Sweeping waterfalls of silver and platinum resided on each side of Zeus’s golden throne. Unicorns and fairies played along each other at the bottom sides of the throne. The ceiling, extend high in to the radiating clouds, that rained gems of all colors. The floor made of the finest glass with paintings of the great gods and under the see through glass floors was the ocean. The blue and teal colored water of the ocean resonated its gentle light all along the walls of the hall.
Both of them had never dreamed of beauty of such majesty. Then their eyes took in the sight of the gods. There in front of them stood Zeus, glowing in pure light, the kind that led them here. To his right stood Hera: the mother of all. To her right stood Athena, in her golden armor, pointing her arrow at the both of them. To the left of Zeus stood Poseidon, with his trident all mighty and to his left stood the other gods. Zeus spoke, in a voice so daunting and brimming with power that it would make any lesser of a heart cower in fear “How does the hells mutt dare chew the meat of Olympus?. What lunacy drives the demon to enter the house of ZEUS? Speak vermin, death is certain, so let loose few words before thou enters its place: the house of Hades”. Lacansis frozen in fear forced his lips to move and spoke “I...I...co....com...Come...to...to warn…th...thee”. A rushing wave of water headed for him and swiped him up and before he knew it he was captive in Zeus’s hand. Anger began to cloud Zeus and with a violent thrust Zeus spoke “I, I the one and all, the creator of all, knows all. Dare you not think of the thoughts to teach the god of god’s knowledge. I created from the greatest to most putrid, such as thee. What possible matters can I not be informed of?”
Lacansis knew that any other words he spoke would cause an end to him, but then he looked at Morgan standing in fear and suddenly spoke “Great master, I intrude not in thinking to question the grand design, I know what place, fate, reserves for the likes of I and I, in no regret, accept the judgment, but something wicked this way comes, bearing the name of Linra”. Zeus, still furious, caught interest in his speech and let loose the pressure he had exerted on Lacansis’s body. “Though a lowly dog of hell you be, I place pity upon thee, only to speak, I detect veracity in thou words” and with that he let loose of Lacansis altogether. Lacansis rose slowly back to his feet and spoke “Listen oh great gods for I reveal all knowledge that I know of the matter. Hades’ second in command, the one called Linra plays games of most wicked kind, but the game he plays, as I speak, threatens the best of us. In a time I know not of, he learned of the knowledge that pierces the veil of immortality of the gods. A Titans bone, unearthed from the graves of the god’s ancestors holds the knife to tear the wings of immortality that you gods enjoy. If a creature of any nature was to strike the heart of a god with the Titan’s bone, that god shall cease to be. Instruments of these evils, Linra, hope to occupy in his quest to rule all that resides in the hands of Zeus. His crazed scheme motivates his mindless actions to thwart the reigning gods. As I now speak, Linra prepares armies of mindless demons by the thousands to seize and destroy the temples at which loyal followers worship. To make the temples his, for his followers to worship. There, however, are thorns on the road of glory for him. The resting place of the Titans interests in being stubborn to open to the demons from the house of Hades, but the fiend learned the secrets of the graves. The graves call for pure blood from the chosen virgin to let open their gates to demons or angels alike. I was to kill the prey for my, once, master, but my heart betrayed my dagger and love tangled me in it’=s enchanting web. I fell in love with the one whose blood had to spill for Linra’s cause. I defied Linra for Morgan and since then, he longs for her blood. We escaped the Demons that hunts us for her blood, sent by Linra those relentless killers follow us to darkest corners of this Urth. I come to thee, great Zeus, in fright. To right the wrongs that Linra has made, no other being shall do this but thee”.
Zeus kept his stare at Lacansis secure. All was quiet in the hall, all the gods stood still, their ears pinned to Lacansis doubtful words. Then Zeus laughed, he laughed in a hearty manner that shattered the silence looming in the hall. The gods lost attention and focused on Zeus laughing, he seemed almost crazed by Lacansis words. Then he suddenly stopped and in anger grabbed Lacansis again and said “Flamboyant tales thou spin upon the king’s mind, unfortunately for thee, to no avail. What does the hell’s bitch take Zeus for? If such was the situation I should know, and I know not of such, therefore…THEREFORE SUCH IS NOT THE TRUTH. LISTEN NAMELESS SERVANT THEE
KNOWS WHAT POWERS THOU FIDDLE WITH? AND I SAY WHAT THOU NOT KNOW THOU SHALL NOT INVOKE TO ACTION”. With a violent sweep of his arm, Zeus threw Lacansis
damaged flesh across the hall’s glass floor. In anger he looked away and made his way to the throne. Lacansis got on his feet and with might and fervor he screamed “My name is Lacansis, orphan I am but never nameless, if thou know all, then thou should know as much”. All the gods gasped in the shock of the defiance this little lowly demon exuded against the mighty Zeus. The ground began to rumble as Zeus eyes lit on fire, he turned around to face Lacansis, and Lacansis, undaunted, said “I speak truth, if arrogance blocks good reason then that should be the downfall of thee, I have only death to suffer but Linra shall not go so kind on thee and the other gods”. “BLASPHEMOUS DULLARD, THOU DARE TALKS TO I IN THESE MANNERS, I’VE SEEN ALL THAT I NEED TO PASS JUDGEMENT AND YOU SHALL SUFFER WORSE THEN DEATH, I BANISH THEE”. As soon as these words left the mouth of Zeus, Morgan screamed in fear for her lover’s life. He raised his hand and a sweeping flame grabbed Lacansis’s neck and took him back to where he hoped to escape from: Linra’s chambers. “Deal with thou trash and see that these imbeciles never again set foot in my court” Zeus said to Linra, as the doors to the two worlds opened. Lacansis was now doomed, all the effort was now lost to Zeus’s anger.
Morgan Laid crying on the floor, the curtains of her dreams and her life closed in front of her eyes. It all suddenly went dark for her, the lights were dimmed, she fell unconscious and not a prayer could help her.
Morgan lay on the floor clinging to life as sadness overcame her every sense. Her eyes drenched in tears, closed themselves from the world. Zeus’s anger now subsided back into his mind. He sat there with a crystal glass filled to the top with, sunset colored, mead. Hera started to make her way out of the meeting hall and when Zeus saw her putting her foot out the door he asked “Dear wife, tell me so, does thou find haste in my actions toward the demon?”. Hera turned around and faced Zeus, she looked straight in his eyes and replied “How dare I contend the manners of the all knowing, what thou dealt on the demon, thou did with all wise and sound judgment”. Zeus smiled in suspicion from her answer and Hera left the grand hall of the gods. She walked down the hall where the Unicorns had dropped Lacansis and Morgan before. Her mind caught in the memory of what had occurred moments before, she thought of the situation over and over. As she walked she knew she was not alone at the moment, she walked up to the statues, stopped and said “Athena my dear, nimble steps of thou silent feet echo loud drums in my ears, I know thee pursues me, but why?” Athena stopped in tracks, surprised from Hera’s attentive ears, she said “My nimble feet betray me against my humble pursuits, but Hera, thee, knows knowledge on infinite levels, how could I hide from such wisdom”. Hera laughed and said “Thou aim to flatter me?” “No, I aim to ask of your distressed partings from the chamber, what causes the dispirited tidings?” Athena responded quickly.
Hera looked at Athena and said “That demon, I suspect verity in his spoken words to Zeus, even if Zeus knows all he lets a little escape under his rule, his trust on Hades causes his anger on the demon. I fear Hades even knows not of the wicked doings of the one called Linra”. As Hera looked at Athena, a rush of air fondled her golden spun hair; waves of screams followed the diseased winds. Hera looked down and saw three demons race above with long swords decorated in their hands. Athena made use of her warrior gifts and made aim at the demons with her hardy arrows, she aimed and prepared to shoot the demons down but Hera put her hands on the bow and told Athena to cease her actions. Athena gave Hear a stunned gaze, Hera looked back at her and said “Worry not, I gave permission to their entrance, I knew of their expectance, just let them be. They chase the scent of the woman that came with the demon; this shall open the eyes of Zeus to the truth, make evident that the Demon spoke the truth”.
The demons cared not to charge toward the two goddesses. They rushed toward the entrance not knowing of the fate that awaited them, as they were about to anger Zeus. They stormed through the door and caught site of Morgan lying silent on the ground, crazed in want for her blood. Zeus was stuck dumbfounded by such insolence, he saw them form a triangle around the girl and raise their swords, their teeth chattering, and amoral laughter running wild. With a scream they let their swords drop to pierce her neck. At the last inch, the swords stood still and the demons choked from the powers of Zeus. Aching and shrieking for freedom the demons fell to the ground in pain as Zeus held their energy in his hands. Then with a flash of his eyes he burned them to ash. Hera walked in gently and said to Zeus “So what of thou all knowing mind? How could such not present itself to thee all watchful eyes?” Zeus burned in anger again and said “The demon spoke the truth, corrupt minds work to dethrone me. LINNNNRRRRAAAAA”. With a mighty thrust a portal opened within the ocean and the doors of heaven and hell opened their arms to each other. Zeus was to visit Linra and confront the wicked himself.
Pillars of heavenly light took foothold on the eroded grounds of the underworld. Cherubs by the number of hundreds came in company of Zeus to confront Linra. Zeus entered the chambers of Linra and found him hot on the heels of Lacansis life. Linra held Lacansis by the neck, raised above the ground. His wings had been torn by signs of violent struggle, his body scathed by vicious scars put unto him by his once friend, Linra. Zeus walked forward and faced Linra, with Hera behind him and his servants ready to strike any evil that threatened their master. Zeus said to Linra “Methinks foul is at play, with games much devilish in nature”. Linra dropped Lacansis and faced Zeus, and with a humble tone and said “Zeus, dear brother, games? Games a child plays, whereas foul creeps, slithers, and sneaks unto the neck. In sudden haste, a grasp it makes, squeezing one’s life, oh and so much more it does, as pity it’s whore in due moment, it laughs”. Zeus gave an interested look at Linra’s answer and replied “My, my Linra such is, and true”. Linra shook his head and said “Most assuring oh great and dear Zeus. If I was to cry foul then thee shall know and dearly, dare I add”. Zeus smiled at Linra’s response and said to him “Put in words well thee did, though address that tone in a manner so it may not let anger of mine form a grasp around thou neck. Say you what Linra? Think what it may forebode on thee”. Linra took caution in his speech now and said “Most certainly, anger of Zeus is no desire of mine, neither my intentions. I ask for thou apology”. Zeus looked at Lacansis and said “Why the demon lies in harm? thou passed further judgment on the demon for his intrusion to my palace”. “Yes, great Zeus, I punished his defiance of the gods wishes” Linra said to Zeus. “N...no…no” a voice came from Lacansis, “He ...he... wishes...t...to...kill all that…tha…that stand on his... ground”.
He gathered his strength and wiped the trails of blood from the side of his mouth and spoke again “He punishes me not for my intrusion, but for my galls to bring forth his plan to thee great Zeus. His heart boils in hatred for thee, strike him know, or he shall do such to thee”. Zeus looked at Linra and said “For the sake of thou mind and soul, Linra, hope that the demon speaks false of thou character, but if his words hold true than shutter to think what horrors I shall lay on to thou regretful soul”. Linra blazed in anger and fear, thinking he had not much time left before Lacansis would reveal all his efforts, he went headstrong to strike down Lacansis. With a rapid lunge toward Lacansis Linra readied his blade sharp claws to cut down the strings of his wild puppet. Mere feet away, in motion he screamed “Foul rubbish, YOUR REST COMES NOW”. Lacansis lied there defenseless, waiting to meet his end, and as the claws neared toward his face, all he thought about was Morgan, her gentle face, the day he met her, he wished he could have apologized to her, but that would not be so. As Linra came closer and closer a scream ripped through the room. All, god, cherubs, and demons, covered their ears from the strong sound of such anger.
Hera hovered above the ground, her eyes seared with rage. She raised her hand and pointed to Linra and said “Linra, dare you not hurt my son”. The words rang like the chapel bells through the ears of all who heard them. Zeus looked at Hera and gasped in disbelief, a woman he called his wife took responsibility for a common demon. But now this demon was not so common. As her hair danced from the wind that came forth from under her feet, Hera said to Linra “My blood shall not become victim to worthless beasts like thee. Let loose of your prey or thou shall become prey to a mother’s rage”. Zeus frozen in shock, looked on at Hera and her actions to defend a demon she called her son, but how could this be he thought. Hera, with her power, threw Linra against the wall, the wall collapsed on him and enveloped him in stone bricks and dust. Lacansis got on his feet and his eyes never took sight off of Hera. The words loomed in his mind in conjunction with confusion.
He looked at Hera and her tear ridden face looking back at him and said “Mother? Mother? thou proclaims to be mother of this worthless orphan, mother of all deities known to man, gave blood to this demon, How?” Hera looked down, crying and said “Many decades ago Zeus went to the land of common man adorning the disguise of a young man in search of love to call his own. I had known of such, but as a wife of the great Zeus I dared not contest the actions. My heart sunk in despair as I longed to make Zeus of my own, but insolvent in every attempt I found solace in a stranger, a stranger that provided comfort to this grieving goddess. I met with that man on many occasions and gave into his warmth that Zeus provided to humans of my kind, not me. One thunder struck night I gave into more than his warmth. Long I hid the fruits of an unholy, passionate night. When I gave birth to thee dear Lacansis the fear of my consort killed a mother’s love that should have greeted thee, I gave thou to your father to raise”.
Lacansis looked at his hands, shaking in stupefaction and replied “My...my fa...father, I was given to my father, b...bu...But Linra was all that raised this boy to the man I am”. Then it hit him, like the pounding hammers of Hephaestus it stuck him. His world twisted in form around him. He had found his faceless mother and his father had been the one that thought to take his life. “What night of passion I passed with my dear Hera, such a beauty found my heart tender to confound to, a demon’s heart” the words came out from Linra’s mouth as he crawled out from under the rubble. Zeus, like Hera flared in anger and said “HERA, WHAT HEARTLESS TORTURES DOES THOU INFLICT UPON ME? WAS I TO NEVER KNOW”? Hera looked at Zeus and said “This knowledge would have caused an end to my child, I cared only for the ill-fated child I had”. Zeus looked away from Hera and she said to him “I only love my progeny, is that an ill conceived notion then I am guilty”. With the attention taken away from him Linra lunged toward Zeus with all his might in his last attempt to fulfill his quest. He had gone mad from defeat. As he came toward to strike, Zeus tied his limbs to chains and hung him midway in his room, a flame erupted under his body that was to forever burn him. As he screamed in pain Zeus said “Infidel, thou shall adhere to the pain for all of eternity, I am no fool to toy with as thou has no might to ruin the likes of I”.
Zeus, now, saddened more than angered looked at Hera and said “Heart aches from the trials that take place under the land, I, too, suffer pain and live on with the knowledge of these undertakings. Come now my dear wife, I lose hope on all that brought joy to this tired heart. I relieve this world of my nurture. My hand that fed it, these seeds I sow shall taste no water from the garden of Zeus. Come now dear wife, let this land wither away to its misery, I grow weary of this all”. Lacansis jumped and ran front of Zeus and said “Great god’s think of the life along the land that asks of your giving, they shall die along the wicked. Linra betrayed all that held sacred but the innocent life that dwell above the hot hell deserves this not. If thou is to live in seclusion from thou’s creation than grant me the duties of the undertaker, that I may lead on without the hands of thee to hold this Urth. Come dear mother, if thou are to grant one gift of love to this bastard soul than this should be the one”. Zeus and Hera looked at each other and then Zeus replied “If that be thy request than I am to give thee such. Listen Lacansis I give thee this gift not in pride but in knowing that thou blood links to my lineage”. White flames overtook his body and healed him, he could feel his heart growing stronger, his power increasing a million times fold. He was now the caretaker of all that lived on the land and water. “Much thanks to the great Zeus. I shall not disappoint” Lacansis said smiling. “Wait Lacansis, is thou to forget his love” Morgan’s voice came from the ceiling as she hung from the arms of a cherub.
Lacansis erupted in joy and said “Oh my Morgan I thought your soul had found the way to the heaven’s fields”. “Not without you Lacansis, not ever” replied Morgan. Zeus looked at Morgan and said “The boy chooses to lead humanity under his guidance, as his love do you wish the same?” Morgan looked at Lacansis and then faced Zeus and said “A mind relies on the heart, as does the heart on the mind, Lacansis is my heart”. Zeus then raised her hand did what he had done to Lacansis. “May the love of the care takers survive as long as the god’s light” Hera said. The pillars of light ascended with the gods with them and Lacansis and Morgan were alone to lead Urth into new generations.
Lacansis had formed a ball of lava under the Urth as a furnace to heat the oceans. The land so the animals that thrived there would live on, the winds would circle the Urth as they once had and all would be the same. Their love was now also lit eternal. They had to live under the grounds, but they surfaced often to run through the cool grass of the country sides of Morgan’s kingdom. Their daughter and their younger son played with the birds as they flew with them around the land under the guidance of the blue sky. Linra remained chained under the flame, with his screams hidden from all ears, forever.
...and so has been the way of life from that sunset since.
